The discussion, led by geologist Chris Newhall, covered an overview of earthquakes and related terminology, the recent earthquake incident in Myanmar, a comparison between Myanmar’s situation and that of the Philippines, lessons from the 1990 Luzon earthquake, and an in-depth look at Albay’s geological landscape.
In attendance were Provincial Administrator Dr. Cedric D. Daep, Provincial Information Officer Atty. Marylou Duka Castillo, Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office Officer-in-Charge Engr. Dante B. Baclao, and engineers from various LGUs across Albay.
