Briefing of Lahar Prone Barangays

The Province of Albay was a recipient of UNDP funded project as part of the Typhoon “Rolly” Rehabilitation. As an offshoot of the initial project, the Province of Albay through the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office [APSEMO] received another project study grant as additional component of the UNDP Project Title: SHIELD PIP: Recovery for Super Typhoon. The research study project is entitled “The evaluation of Six River Channels Inside the 6-Kilometer Radius Permanent Danger Zone [PDZ] of Mayon Volcano as Contributory to Lahar Threat in Albay

APSEMO, together with the Albay humanitarian team, has started serving families affected by Severe Tropical Storm ‘Opong’ in Barangays Syndicate, Panique, Bangon, and Aroroy in Masbate. The team has provided potable water to residents to ensure a sufficient water supply as the community strives to recover from the storm’s impact.
